I cannot believe that it has truly been this long since I last updated, but oh well, there you have it. The London bombing got between the original planning of an update, then a holiday, and then the start of the new academic year, which has been quite, quite busy so far. Social life overdose, so to say. (Does anyone reading this even care?)
In any case, I decided to make a few more icons before updating- you'll find that several icons actually come in more than one version, since I thought all versions had something unique about them that seemed equally appealing to me in their own special, subtle way. Feel free to tell me which one of these versions you prefer and why, I like some feedback that isn't just 'great icons!', although such feedback is very much appreciated, of course. :)

Yesterday's news came as a shock for me, and I've decided to postpone the icon-update I'd planned. Nevertheless I'm amazed by the sense of humour the British have shown and the way they stay strong. It's one of those things that makes me an Anglophile. This post has some great Brit-quotes regarding the attacks, and in honour of the Brits I've made the following icons.

Anyway, I finished a few icons today, and I figured I might as well post them now, since my finals are coming up and that means they'll be waiting for a month at least otherwise. Wouldn't want them to feel lonely all that time, would we?

I almost cannot believe this myself, but this is really the second update this month. The reason for this is simple- I came across an icon featuring a kitten of infinite cuteness, and I instantly decided that I needed to go off and make icons of kitty cuteness too. So, I started looking for images, and found much, oh-so-very-much infinite cuteness. (Clear evidence that I should never again be given access to Google Image Search.) Am not anywhere near having iconised all images I saved to my computer (any idea how many? MANY), but figured it would be nice to post the first batch up here, at least.
(Oh yeah- I made the above spoiler for the boyfriend. ^^)

Well, considering my last update was November 23, 2004, I think it's safe to say that once again I have managed to take ages to get an actual update done. Several reasons: I have a life (troublesome, that), a boyfriend (part of said life but twice as much attention is required), and the amount of time I have to make actual icons is not much. I make a few now and then, but generally not more than two or three in one day. Since I don't like to update for every two icons I make, I wait with updating until I feel that I have enough icons for an update. Bad Elvy, be disciplined, blablabla... yes, I know, no, I won't, and what am I whining nobody reads the text bits anyway.
About the icons: I finally got around to working on that Into the West song-set I was babbling about some months back. I made it past halfway, but then my muse died for it, and she's remained dead for ages. Since I don't know if I'm ever going to finish it, I'm posting what I already finished.
I've also made name-icons for my separate lj's, and they're up for display below. I ask that you do not take them, but you may always admire them with big gorgeous, blue, Hobbit-y eyes and politely ask me to make you one, too.

Well, it's been ages since my last update, but I've finally found some time to iconise again. That, and everything on Mr Morgoth is up and running. Which is good. XD
Anyway, most of these icons are actually ones that have been lingering for months, and haven't been posted. (Don't ask me why, because I don't know either.) And since I think it's stupid to make icons and then not post them, I'm posting them now. So... yeah. The LotR ones are actually new ones, in case you're wondering- all three of them less than 2 weeks old.
For those of you who are wondering if I'm ever posting the Into the West set I'm working on- yes, I will, but not until it's entirely finished. There are about 17 in the set right now, so I hope it won't be long. One of the LotR icons is actually a spoiler. ;)

Okay, so very recently, @ ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) fenacons asked me a crazy thing: do you want to be an affiliate? Sure, I says. That's cool.
Only, I realised that I hadn't bothered myself on this particular subject at all. No entries with lists of affiliates or even a place to ask for affiliation... let alone cool affiliation graphics. And of course, the first thing I wanted to do was make a few. Can't be affiliates without cool graphics to show it off, after all, certainly not if it's all about a graphics journal.
The tiny little problem that came in was that I was also much without a graphics program. New computer et all, and I need to dig up the stuff to install everything. And that might take a while. So, I downloaded a trial version of PSP 9 (I'll get my own version one of these days, you'll see!), and installed it. But since I was too lazy to reinstall all of my brushes along with it (700+ brushes and lazy Elvy make a bad combo), I decided to keep it simple for now. So, I made a tiny little graphic thingum for affiliation goodness, and am posting it now. Drop a comment if you want to be affiliates, yaddayadda, you know the drill.
Oh, and- please save the graphic thingum for affiliation goodness to your own host if you're going to use it. ;)

I've had these lingering for about two weeks now, as my own computer crashed. (No, I did not throw it out of the window. It just died on me, ok?) But being absolutely bored to death, ill, with most of the RL friends abroad and no one to talk to in the house, I decided to yoink the Father's computer for a few moments and update. (Please, comment! I'm so bored that I'll reply to anything! I'm so bored that I'm whoring for any kind of comment! Just comment, please! PLEASE!!!)

I also wanted to update to show off a pretty banner, since I won first prize in a golden_wood challenge a few weeks back. It was a lyrics contest thing, and my preeeeeeetty icon won. Yay LotR, Into the West, and PSP 9. (Incidentally, I decided to make a set with all of the ItW lyrics after winning. It's halfway done, but I can't finish it just yet, as the comp with PSP 9 is t3h d34d and the Father won't allow me to do anything with his comp. So don't tell him I updated. He'll kill me.)
Anyway, the winning icon:

Oh, and- I made some more Arwen-icons, by request of lotr_freak16. Éowyn and Samwise and other icons in general will get attention once the computer is working again. I swear.

Yeah, so... got the piccyture from morgalyen and had to iconise it- I couldn't help myself! It was so Monty Python, and cute and fluffy and teh 3vil and a fluffy and more or less disturbing way, andandand... I can't stop staring at it because it's just so cute. ^_^
I even made it my new default icon over at elvea_aure.
I = teh hopeless.
Oh well.

I noticed how I've been updating pretty frequently these past few weeks, and how the updates containing actual icons seemed to be, well, rather absent. So I decided to post some more icons, as they'd been waiting to be posted for about three weeks now, and the poor things were starting to feel lonely. The icons are all LotR-related, and are mainly Frodo, Sam and Mordor-themed. Next LotR-icon update will probably focus on Arwen, as I have a few pretty, pretty bases that are just waiting to be spiffed up and made shiny.
But for now, a spoiler that was runner-up in the golden_wood Week 12 challenge. (Go me! ^_^)

I made two very pretty colour-banners just now, it's _____apathy's fault really. She made me do it! (Well, inspired me to do it, actually, but made me do it sounds so much cooler.) There's a PicSpam banner, and a Mini Cooper banner, because I lurve Mini Coopers. Behind their respective cuts. ^_^

Felt horribly creative today, so decided to go make some brushes of my own. That is to say, I was looking for 'Ringsy brushes for some time now, and I couldn't find the ones I was looking for anywhere. So, I visited LotR.net, went on a massive search, snatched some piccies I liked, and turned them into nice brushes for iconising purposes. Since there were a few suitable letters from the Windings 2 font I also like to use (but always get miffed over as they are vector layers and not raster layers), and found it so much more convenient to have them as brushes, I added them to the mix, thus ending up with a neat little set of 22 pretty, pretty brushes. ^_^

As I write this I realise that the first thing a lot of people will think of when seeing PSP and colourising effects together in one tutorial, they will think: 'easy, that's what the colourise feature is for'. People who've just gotten started on iconising and use either PSP7 or 8 will think 'what the-?' and have no idea what I'm talking about. I'll explain myself.

I found these icons lingering on my hard drive; I made them ages ago and somehow never got around to posting them here. I know I've had them up on my personal journal, but since that is inaccessible for most people and doesn't have an icon archive of any kind, and since I know a lot of people would like to see these icons anyway (oh, come on, people- humor me!), I've decided to re-post them, for fun's sake.
All these icons are PPC-related in some way and meant for a good laugh among the LotR crowd. They might come off as, well, made by a purist, but then again I am one, so there you have it. Don't bite me if you find these on the offensive side. I'll bite back, and will not be held responsible for any injuries that follow this. You have been warned.

I swear to Zeus Troy is an inspiring film. Perhaps because it's based on Greek Mythology; the mythology of the nine muses. At least one of them is bugging me in any case. Or perhaps it's just because there's a whole bunch of bloody hot actors starring in it.
